Woman killed in Johor after her motorcycle collides with lorry

JOHOR BARU: A 25-year-old woman was killed after the motorcycle she was on collided with a lorry in Ulu Tiram here.

Seri Alam OCPD Supt Mohd Sohaimi Ishak said the accident involving the motorcycle and lorry was believed to have happened at around 6.20am on Saturday (May 17).

“Initial investigations found that the lorry, driven by a 40-year-old local man, was heading towards Pekan Tiram when the motorcyclist suddenly veered into the opposite lane.

“The lorry driver was unable to brake in time and collided with the motorcycle. The impact caused the motorcyclist to be thrown off her motorcycle,” he said in a statement on Saturday.

He said that the case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
