KUALA LUMPUR: His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia, and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, wish all educators in the country a Happy Teachers Day.
His Majesty said that teachers are remarkable individuals who impart knowledge selflessly in the pursuit of shaping an excellent society.
“Without teachers, there would be no knowledge; without knowledge, the path ahead would be in darkness. Teachers are the light that illuminates our way towards a brighter future.
“Thank you to all teachers for your service and sacrifices, whether in the cities or remote areas; your contributions will always be remembered,” His Majesty said in a Facebook post.
The national-level 54th Teachers Day celebration for this year was held in Kuching with the theme “Teachers Driving Education Reform”.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in a special Teachers Day message yesterday, described teachers as the true heroes in shaping the nation’s future and the greatest agents in the pursuit of knowledge to ensure that Malaysia’s educational mission is fulfilled.
“I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all our educators.
“Continue your mission to sow knowledge with sincerity and determination. We are all witnesses to the immeasurable contributions of teachers; you are the true heroes shaping Malaysia’s future,” he said in a video clip shared on his Facebook page.
The two Deputy Prime Ministers also took to social media to extend their Teachers Day greetings, expressing appreciation and gratitude to all educators in the country.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi stressed that the contribution of teachers, who patiently guided students from the early stages of learning, is the root of the success achieved today.
“They are noble individuals who tirelessly impart knowledge and shape the character of future generations.
“I believe the strength of our national education system lies not only in policies and frameworks, but also in the dedication of teachers who educate with heart, guide with compassion and build the future of our nation’s children with sincerity,” Ahmad Zahid posted on Facebook.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof also extended his gratitude to educators who have sacrificed time and energy to teach the younger generation.
“Teachers are not merely transmitters of knowledge, but agents of change who shape policy, pedagogy and learning culture towards a more progressive direction. Deepest appreciation goes to our teachers for their commitment, sincerity, dedication and excellence in guiding students to become outstanding, virtuous individuals and proud citizens of the nation.
“Thank you to every individual called ‘teacher’. May you continue to serve the nation and its people,” he said in a post on Facebook.
