King, Queen and ministers offer their condolences


KUALA LUMPUR: The King and Queen of Malaysia, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, have conveyed their condolences to the families of the Federal Reserve Unit (FRU) personnel who were killed in a road crash in Teluk Intan.

Their Majesties expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and prayed that those who lost their loved ones would be granted strength, resilience and ease in navigating this difficult time.

“May their souls be blessed and granted mercy,” said Their Majesties in a Facebook post.

Cabinet ministers have also extended their condolences to the families of the FRU personnel.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the nation mourns their passing and prayed for the families to be granted strength and perseverance during this time of grief.

“Their sacrifice will never be forgotten. It will remain etched in our memory as a symbol of bravery and unwavering loyalty to the nation.

“They were national heroes who died in the line of duty, bearing the responsibility entrusted to them to safeguard the country’s peace and security,” he said.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail said the welfare of the affected personnel and their families will be looked after.

“They have worked with full dedication in maintaining peace and the safety of the people. May their souls be placed among the righteous,” he said.

Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming described the accident as a heartbreaking tragedy, and extended his condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims.

Nga, who is also Teluk Intan MP, had instructed his political secretary to visit the affected families and explore ways to provide immediate assistance.

Communications Minister Datuk Fahmi Fadzil said the tragedy is not merely a loss for the families and colleagues of the FRU personnel but also to the nation.

“They are national heroes who are always ready to be at the forefront to ensure public safety and order. May the families of the victims be granted strength,” he said.

Agriculture and Food Security Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Sabu said he was deeply saddened by the news of the tragedy.

“Losing a loved one is a heavy challenge to bear.

“May the families of the victims be given strength, fortitude and peace in facing these trying times.”
