Al-Sultan Abdullah visits family of drowned child in Sungai Balok


KUANTAN: Sultan of Pahang, Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah, on Monday (May 12) visited the family of a young girl who drowned during an outing at the Sungai Balok estuary near here.

His Royal Highness was accompanied by the Tengku Ampuan of Pahang, Tunku Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah, during the visit to the home of the victim, seven-year-old Nur Afia Ramadhannie Zolkurnain, at Sungai Ular here.

In a post on the official Facebook page of the Pahang Sultanate, both Their Highnesses expressed heartfelt condolences and hoped the family would remain strong in facing the tragedy.

The incident occurred around 5pm last Saturday (May 10), when the victim's mother, Masitah Latipah Adam, 42, brought her children to the estuary for a family outing and to collect shellfish.

Nur Afia, the seventh of eight siblings, was reported missing and later found drowned several hours after the incident. – Bernama
