TAWAU: The Madani Rakyat Programme (PMR) 2025 is proof of strong collaboration between the federal and state governments through a whole-of-government approach to benefit the people.

Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick, who disclosed this, said counters and stalls are set up for people to access services and facilities.

He said the presence of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor at the Sabah PMR event scheduled today shows the close cooperation between the federal and state governments in delivering the best services to the people.

“This is why we must empower platforms such as the PMR initiative, where federal and state agencies are brought together under one programme for the benefit of the rakyat,” he told reporters after an interview in conjunction with Sabah PMR 2025 here yesterday, Bernama reported.

The three-day event kicked off on Friday at the Tawau Municipal Council Square.

Anwar is expected to attend the closing ceremony today.

Sabah PMR 2025 is a government initiative spearheaded to bring essential government services directly to the people.

Themed “Ending Poverty Through Entrepreneurship”, the Sabah edition of PMR 2025 underscores the government’s sustainable approach to eradicating hardcore poverty by empowering local communities through entrepreneurship.

Ewon said federal and state policies were aligned to ensure entrepreneurship policies significantly impact entrepreneurs and the public.

He added that the National Entrepreneur and SME Development Council, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, was a platform for various ministries and agencies to coordinate initiatives.

“We will strengthen the existing federal and state cooperation,” he said, reiterating the importance of fostering a whole-of-government approach in all aspects, especially entrepreneurship.”
