KL schools to operate as usual tomorrow despite haze

PETALING JAYA: Schools in Kuala Lumpur will operate as usual on Thursday (Oct 15) despite the haze, with all outdoor activities postponed as a precaution.

The Kuala Lumpur Federal Territory Education Department said pupils attending school were encouraged to wear face masks amid the prevailing haze.

Parents and guardians who were concerned about their children's health could choose not to send them to school, but must inform the respective schools of their children's absence.

The department said all educational institutions under the Education Ministry in Kuala Lumpur would continue with face-to-face learning as usual.

It also urged all parties to remain alert to developments and follow advice from the authorities regarding the haze.

The department said the safety, health and well-being of pupils and school staff remained its priority.
