Moderate earthquake strikes Banda Sea, no tsunami threat to Malaysia


KUALA LUMPUR: A moderate earthquake measuring 5.6 on the Richter scale struck the Banda Sea, Indonesia, at 6.45am on Saturday (May 10).

In a statement, the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) said the quake occurred at a depth of 171km, about 413km South of Ambon, Indonesia.
