MACC denies claims that its officer coerced Pamela Ling Yueh

PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) refuted claims that a senior officer coerced Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh into resolving her divorce issues.

In a statement on Friday (May 9), the MACC refuted the allegations that were made in a TikTok video.

"An internal investigation confirmed that the officer in question was not involved in the investigation related to Pamela Ling Yueh and has never met her.

"The said officer has lodged a police report and filed an official complaint with the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) regarding the video, which he described as defamatory and malicious.

“He strongly denies all accusations and has left the matter to the relevant authorities for further investigation into the individual responsible for spreading the false claims," said the statement.

The MACC also urged the public not to spread unverified information, as it could lead to disruptions in the ongoing police investigations regarding her disappearance.

On April 9, Ling was summoned to the MACC headquarters in Putrajaya to assist with an investigation under the MACC Act 2009 and the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act.

However, she reportedly went missing while heading to the appointment. Her lawyer filed a police report about her disappearance on the same day.

As of May 4, no ransom demand had been made concerning her disappearance.
