Cops investigating possibility Pamela Ling's husband involved in her abduction

PETALING JAYA: Datin Seri Pamela Ling Yueh's husband is among those who could be a suspect in her disappearance, says Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain.

"For now, the possibilities are along those lines and perhaps others are involved as well.

"We have recorded the statements of over 16 people, including the husband.

"We will also record the statements of their children who are based in Singapore. We have not identified a motive," he told reporters in Bukit Aman on Tuesday (May 6).

He added that Ling's husband was still in the country.

Razarudin said that the case is being investigated under Section 363 of the Penal Code for kidnapping.

Meanwhile Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain, in a press conference at the Kedah police headquarters, said the cars used in the abduction of Ling used fake number plates, as confirmed with the Road Transport Department (JPJ).

"Our focus is to locate the vehicles. For now, our checks with JPJ records showed that all three vehicles used fake number plates.

"Instructions have been given to identify all CCTV cameras in Putrajaya, Kuala Lumpur and at Selangor borders to check cars matching the ones used in her kidnapping," he said
