Four hurt in explosion at Kuala Selangor palm oil factory


KUALA SELANGOR: Four foreign workers have been injured in an explosion at a palm oil factory in Bestari Jaya here on Saturday (May 3) morning.

Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (Operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mokhtar said the incident happened after a steam boiler in the factory exploded.

"Four victims were injured - two Nepalese, an Indian and a Bangladeshi national. All suffered burns to the leg areas and were brought to Hospital Tanjung Karang before responding firefighters arrived at the scene.

"The fire was also extinguished before the responding team arrived," he said when contacted.
