Over 110 tapirs killed on Malaysian roads from 2020 to 2024


HULU SELANGOR: A total of 112 Malayan tapirs have been killed in road accidents nationwide from 2020 to 2024.

Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Minister Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad said the latest data from the Wildlife and National Parks Department (Perhilitan) shows that only around 700 to 800 Malayan tapirs remain in their natural habitats.
