IN celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri, McDonald’s Malaysia is spreading festive cheer and extending heartfelt appreciation to customers with its very first Mekdi Raya Open House – a celebration filled with warmth, gratitude, and togetherness with Malaysians.
The Mekdi Raya Open House kicked off at McDonald’s Pantai Sentral Park Kuala Lumpur on April 11 and will be followed by McDonald’s Indera Mahkota Pahang on April 18, McDonald’s Bandar Baru Uda Johor on April 19, and McDonald’s Tabuan Jaya Sarawak on April 26.
Each location brought the spirit of Hari Raya Aidilfitri to life with vibrant festivities – from traditional performances and nostalgic local games to special appearances by popular artistes, creating an atmosphere of celebration for the whole community.
Adding to the festive cheer, McDonald’s Malaysia served 1,500 complimentary McDonald’s Chicken Foldover meals at each location as a token of appreciation to the local communities.
Guests also had the chance to walk away with exciting gifts and vouchers by participating in the various engaging activities throughout the event.
According to McDonald’s Malaysia managing director and local operating partner Datuk Azmir Jaafar, Hari Raya Aidilfitri is a time to strengthen relationships and foster unity.
“We are truly grateful for the continuous support that we have received from Malaysians throughout the years.
“Through the Mekdi Raya Open House, McDonald’s Malaysia is celebrating the spirit of Raya with our communities – a gesture of appreciation to our customers and a reflection of the unity and gratitude that defines this festive season,” he said.
Community outreach has long been a core pillar of McDonald’s Malaysia. The company organises over 10,000 community initiatives annually, firmly committed to giving back to the communities it serves.
Most recently, during the month of Ramadan, McDonald’s Malaysia organised its Kongsi Rezeki Ramadan programme, which included the distribution of meals for buka puasa and moreh, along with Kotak Rezeki boxes to those in need – across mosques, suraus, universities, and other local areas.
As part of its continued community efforts, McDonald’s Malaysia also partnered with its charity of choice, Ronald McDonald House Charities Malaysia (RMHC Malaysia), to welcome children from Pusat Jagaan Darul Sakinah to the open house celebration, who were treated to a joyful and meaningful Raya experience filled with delicious food and fun games.
In addition to the Mekdi Raya Open House, McDonald’s Malaysia rolled out a range of other initiatives in conjunction with Hari Raya this year.
These included free coffee giveaways at drive-thru restaurants, complimentary meals on the first and second day of Raya at all outlets nationwide, and exclusive festive deals via the McD App.
The festive spirit was further showcased at 26 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, beautifully adorned with vibrant Raya-themed decorations.
