PM conveys New Year greetings to Indian community

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has conveyed Chithirai New Year, Vaisakhi and Vishu greetings to the Tamil, Sikh and Malayalee communities.

“May the celebration bring joy, good health and blessings to all.

“We celebrate diversity with pride, as this is what makes Malaysia unique and strong.

“Continue strengthening unity as this is our true strength,” he said in a message via social media on Monday (April 14).

Anwar said the government will strengthen initiatives that empower the Indian community in Malaysia.

This will be through various programmes, including business financing programmes, on top of improving education, houses of worship and job opportunities.

“This is important in realising our intention of empowering the Indian community in Malaysia alongside uplifting their socioeconomic status,” he said.
