Thunderstorm warning issued for eight states and Federal Territories


KUALA LUMPUR: Thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds are expected across several regions in Malaysia, with warnings in effect until 6pm on Friday (April 4), says the Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia).

In Perak, areas such as Hilir Perak, Batang Padang, and Muallim are on alert.

Kelantan regions including Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, and Pasir Puteh should prepare for severe weather.

In Terengganu, districts like Besut, Setiu, Kuala Nerus, Hulu Terengganu, Kuala Terengganu, Marang, and Dungun are expected to be affected.

In Pahang, Raub and Bentong are under the warning.

Selangor, along with FT Kuala Lumpur and FT Putrajaya, are also on alert.

In Johor, areas such as Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi, and Johor Bahru are forecasted to experience adverse weather.

In Sarawak, the affected areas are Kapit (Belaga), Bintulu (Bintulu and Sebauh), Miri (Subis and Beluru), and Limbang.

In Sabah, the Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan, and Keningau), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, and Tuaran), Tawau (Tawau and Lahad Datu), and Sandakan (Tongod) are expected to face severe conditions, as well as FT Labuan.
