Four injured after living room floor gives way in Kg Goebilt

KUCHING: A family's Hari Raya celebrations at Kampung Goebilt here turned into an emergency when their living room floor suddenly gave way on Monday (March 31).

The state Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said 10 people were in the house when the incident occurred at about 11am, injuring four.

The Bako volunteer fire brigade responded immediately when a distress call was received at 11.10am.

The victims, aged from 11 to 20 years old, were sent to hospital by villagers before Bomba personnel arrived at the scene.

"The incident involved a wooden house on stilts and the floor of the living room had collapsed," the department said in a statement.

It added that Bomba personnel inspected the rest of the house and found that the structure was safe.
