“During this period, one arrest was made involving an unlicensed firework seller in Taiping under Section 8 of the Explosives Act 1957.
“The arrest took place on March 16, involving a 29-year-old man who works as a food delivery rider.
“He was arrested by a roadside near the night market site at Taman Kaya, Simpang in Taiping.
"A total of 41 boxes and eight packages of fireworks, valued at RM500, were seized,” he told reporters after the state-level 218th Police Day assembly at the police air wing operations training base here on Tuesday (March 25).

“Monitoring will be conducted in every district. While some vendors sell fireworks openly, there may be illegal sales as well.
“Our teams are actively monitoring such activities. For instance, the recent arrest in Taiping was one of their successes.
“Each district has a task force conducting surveillance, with support from their respective OCPDs, and reports are sent to the state contingent,” he added.
Asked if any illegal sales of fireworks were being done through online platforms, he said no reports of such cases have been received in Perak so far.
