However, it is important that fireworks are let off responsibly to ensure the safety of those around.
Recently, a video went viral on social media showing a man recklessly letting off fireworks in the middle of a busy road.
Captions and comments on the viral video indicated that the incident happened in Seri Alam, Johor, recently.

Seri Alam acting OCPD Supt Victor Genason confirmed the incident and said that a 21-year-old male suspect had been arrested.
He said the man was arrested in Kampung Pasir Putih in Pasir Gudang at around 11pm on Saturday (March 21).
The man is said to have lit the fireworks on a road in Seri Alam, where cars were passing by, at around 11pm on Wednesday (March 18).
The video also showed onlookers, including a young child, watching the fireworks from a close distance.
“A 53-second video of the incident was uploaded on social media, prompting us to investigate.
“The man has been arrested for investigation under Section 286 of the Penal Code for negligent conduct with regards to any explosive substance,” said Supt Victor.
Upon conviction, the offence is punishable with a jail term of up to six years or a maximum fine of RM2,000, or both, he added.
