45 foreigners denied entry at KLIA

No entry: Some of the 45 foreign nationals who were stopped from entering the country at KLIA.

PETALING JAYA: A total of 45 foreign nationals were barred from entering the country after they failed to meet entry conditions during an operation at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).

The Malaysian Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) said its operation on Tuesday focused on an incoming gate where 115 foreign nationals were inspected.

It said 36 Bangladeshis and nine Pakistanis were found to have failed to fulfil entry conditions.

“They were taken to the monitoring unit for investigation, where authorities decided against their landing,” said the agency in a statement.

The agency said it will continuously beef up security control and compliance with immigration regulations at KLIA.

On Monday, the agency denied entry to a group of 15 Bangladeshis.

The group claimed to be a cricket team taking part in a tournament but upon investigation, it was found that there was no scheduled event from March 21 to 23 as claimed.

AKPS also found that the letter allegedly issued by the Penang Cricket Association was fake.

The group was issued a Not To Land (NTL) order.
