Siti Nurhaliza’s niece unfazed by criticism

TEEN singer Ummi Umairah Saiful Anuar is not letting negative social media comments bother her anymore, Berita Harian reported.

The 14-year-old, who goes by the name Umairah, shared that she often gets comments comparing her to her aunt, Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza, with many saying that the young singer is trying to imitate her iconic relative.

“I’m not trying to copy her, but she is my flesh and blood,” Umairah said.

She said that just like her mother, Siti Sairah Tarudin, all three of them have similar voices.

“I’ve trained myself for a long time. When I read the comments, it’s like a joke to me,” she added.

Umairah said her family plays a big part in cancelling out the negativity.

“I’m getting stronger as time goes on. I’m not as affected anymore,” she added.

However, when netizens go too far with their comments, she is quick to take action.

“If it gets too hurtful, I’ll just block them,” she said.
