Anwar engages with Defence Ministry staff at Ramadan programme


SUBANG: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today engaged with personnel of the Defence Ministry in conjunction with the Ihya' Ramadan Programme at the Subang air base.

During the programme, Anwar joined more than 700 personnel for Friday prayers at the Al-Muhajirin Mosque and listened to a sermon titled “al-Quran Kitab Penuh Mukjizat” delivered by Armed Forces Religious Corps (KAGAT) director-general Maj Gen Datuk Mohd Rashidi Bujai.

The Prime Minister then distributed “bubur lambuk” (rice porridge) to the personnel.

The 2025 Ihya' (revival) Ramadan Programme was organised by the Defence Ministry in collaboration with the Performance Acceleration Coordination Unit (PACU) and the Prime Minister's Department.

Earlier, Anwar, who arrived at 11.55am, held a meeting with the top management of the Defence Ministry, discussing governance enhancement, reform initiatives and achievements.

Also present were Defence Minister Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, Deputy Defence Minister Adly Zahari, Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Shamsul Azri Abu Bakar and Defence Ministry secretary-general Datuk Lokman Hakim Ali.

Chief of Defence Force Gen Datuk Mohd Nizam Jaffar, Chief of Army Gen Tan Sri Muhammad Hafizuddeain Jantan, Chief of Air Force Gen Tan Sri Mohd Asghar Khan Goriman Khan and Chief of Navy Admiral Datuk Zulhelmy Ithnain also attended the meeting.

After the meeting, Anwar took time to meet with six Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) pilots involved in the flypast during the 67th National Day celebration. – Bernama
