TWO men were arrested for killing, cooking and eating a monkey that had damaged mango trees in a farm in Tamil Nadu, India, Makkal Osai reported.

One of them, identified only as Rajaram, was fed up with the monkeys which raided his farm and ate the mangoes, and damaged other crops.

He reportedly paid 1,000 rupees (RM50) to a 31-year-old farm worker who was known to hunt wild animals.

The worker waited in Rajaram’s farm and eventually killed one of the animals with a home-made rifle. They skinned the monkey, cooked its meat and ate it.

When wildlife officials found out about this incident, they arrested both men.

> Three dead cows have been found in a plantation. This has left cattle farmers in Sungai Siput, Perak, worried about a possible tiger presence, Malaysia Nanban reported.

Pandian Krishnan, who owns a cattle farm, said his cows went out to graze on Friday but one failed to return. He conducted a search and was shocked to find it dead in a nearby jungle area, along with two other cows.

One of the cows was missing its head.
