Sarawak Energy working to ensure stable power supply over holidays

KUCHING: With Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaching, Sarawak Energy Bhd (SEB) is intensifying efforts to maintain a reliable electricity supply and prevent disruptions during the festive season.

SEB group chief executive officer Datuk Sharbini Suhaili stated that contingency measures are in place for quick response and restoration in the event of any power outage.

"The public is encouraged to report outages or suspicious activities near electrical assets through our customer service centre, the SEB Cares mobile app, or the Carina Sarawak Energy Facebook page," he said at an iftar gathering hosted by SEB for stakeholders and community members on Tuesday (March 11).

Sharbini also emphasized SEB's commitment to supporting communities through various initiatives in education and youth development, environmental management and conservation, culture and heritage preservation, and community development and entrepreneurship.

He highlighted SEB's continued investment in education through the Sarawak Energy scholarship programme, which provides financial support to about 150 Sarawakian students annually to pursue higher education.

In addition, SEB offers a bursary programme to assist secondary school students with annual financial contributions.

"Through these sustained efforts, Sarawak Energy aims to make a meaningful impact on the lives of those in need, while remaining committed to community engagement and supporting initiatives that contribute to their wellbeing," he said.

During the event, Sharbini handed over contributions to representatives of local mosques, surau, and charitable organisations, including Masjid Darul Muslimin Kampung Salak, Masjid Darul Halim Kampung Temenggong, Masjid Darul Falah Kampung Jaya Bakti, Surau Darul Rahman, and several others.
