Salleh Said urges former Sabah Umno members to return to the fold

KOTA KINABALU: Former Sabah Umno members who left party after the 2018 General Election are being urged to return to the party to make it a dominant political force once again.

Sabah Umno treasurer Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said the party had a good track record leading the state.

"As we face the 17th Sabah Election, we have to be united to become a strong force in Sabah again," he said at the Sabah Umno Zone 6 buka puasa event in Kalabakan on Sunday (March 9).

"If we get lost along the way, we need to get back on the right path to continue in our efforts to serve our race, religion and country," said Salleh, who is a former Sabah chief minister and federal minister under Barisan Nasional.

He said Sabahans still strongly support Umno and this would be evident in the coming polls.

"In every community, there are silent majorities. I am sure they are with us because they want to see Sabah prosper," he said.
