Two teenagers killed, three seriously hurt after car hits barrier in Alor Setar


ALOR SETAR: Two teenage boys died while three others were seriously injured after their car skidded and hit a barrier in front of SMK Convent Jalan Tanjung Bendahara here Thursday (March 6) night.

Jalan Raja fire station chief Wan Azizul Hakim Wan Jaafar said a team arrived at the scene at 10.38pm after receiving an emergency call 10 minutes earlier.

"The accident involved a car carrying five 18-year-old boys. 

"The accident is believed to have occurred when the vehicle lost control before skidding and crashing into a road barrier.

"Two victims were confirmed dead at the scene while three others who were seriously injured were sent to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah Alor Setar for treatment," he said in a statement on Friday (March 7).

He said the bodies of the victims had been handed over to the police for further action. – Bernama
