Woman, 23, killed in four-vehicle crash near Nilai


Both the cars were crushed in between the lorries in the accident.

NILAI: A 23-year-old woman has been killed in a four-vehicle pile-up along Jalan Persiaran Negeri near here.

Nilai police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said the accident happened when a 34-year-old trailer lorry driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the rear of the victim's car at around 7.25am.

"The lorry driver was heading to Bandar Enstek from Puchong when he rammed into her car.

"The victim's car then ploughed into the rear of another car driven by a 59-year-old man who then crashed into a tipper truck in front of him," he said in a statement.

Supt Abdul Malik said the victim who worked as a technician died on the spot due to serious injuries while the driver of the second car suffered light injuries.

The drivers of both lorries escaped injury.

The case, he said, is being investigated under section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

He urged eyewitnesses to contact investigating officer Insp B. Sharveen Raj at 011 2617 6424 to assist in the investigation.
