140-year-old raintree falls in Taiping Lake Gardens

IPOH: A 140-year-old raintree fell at the Taiping Lake Gardens' Raintree Walk this evening (Feb 14).

The incident occurred following rainfall earlier in the day.

The Taiping Municipal Council stated that they will issue a statement once they receive a full report from the arborist.

Videos of the uprooted tree have been circulating on social media platforms.

Previously, in 2016, a raintree that fell at the walk underwent propping works.

In 2021, another tree at the Raintree Walk, which started leaning over, had to be cut down due to its decaying state.
