Cops nab 'Man Tiger', on the hunt for seven others after shots fired at Simpang Renggam house

KLUANG: Police have arrested an unemployed man for allegedly firing shots at a house in Kampung Bukit Batu, Machap, Simpang Renggam, at 12.17pm on Monday.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the 32-year-old suspect, identified as Abdurrahman Abdullah and also known as "Man Tiger," was apprehended following a report by a 36-year-old housewife, Dian Yulandi Suboh.

“The housewife and her husband were at home when three men in a maroon-coloured Perodua Bezza entered their compound,” Asst Comm Bahrin said in a statement.

He said the housewife was standing at the front door when the three suspects approached her.

“One of them then pulled out a gun from his waistband, pointed it at the housewife and her husband, and fired four shots,” he said.

Asst Comm Bahrin added that the suspects fled after the shooting, firing two more shots as they escaped. The couple was unharmed, as the bullets struck the doorframe and a table in the car porch.

The suspect was later detained at the roadside of Jalan Setia 1, Pusat Perdagangan Setia in Simpang Renggam at 7pm on Monday (Feb 10).

“We are still investigating the motive behind the incident and are tracking down seven other individuals who remain at large,” he said, adding that the suspect would be remanded at the Batu Pahat Court on Tuesday (Feb 11).

Asst Comm Bahrin also revealed that the suspect tested positive for methamphetamine and has 18 prior criminal records, including nine drug-related offences.
