Johor Regent witnesses inking of deal to study developing large-scale floating solar power plants


JOHOR BARU: KPRJ Environment Sdn Bhd and Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd have signed a heads of agreement (HOA) for pre-development studies to develop large-scale floating solar photovoltaic plants in Johor.

The HOA signing ceremony was attended by Johor Regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim at the Persada Johor International Convention Centre here on Monday (Jan 27).

The Regent was accompanied by Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi, Temasek Trust chairman Datin Paduka Ho Ching, Johor State Secretary Tan Sri Dr Azmi Rohani and Singapore’s Consul-General in Johor Baru Ng Kuan Khai.

Other dignitaries present included Kumpulan Prasarana Rakyat Johor (KPRJ) chief executive officer and director of KPRJ Environment Datuk Lukman Abu Bakar as well as Sembcorp Industries Ltd chief executive officer of Singapore and Southeast Asia and Sembcorp Utilities Pte Ltd director Koh Chiap Khiong.

KPRJ Environment Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Johor’s economic development arm KPRJ.
