Man nabbed for beating up property exec in Kluang

KLUANG: A 38-year-old man was arrested after assaulting a property executive at Meridian, Taman Kluang Barat, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred on Jan 17 at 3.30pm when the victim, a 49-year-old man, had gone to the suspect's residence to address complaints about house repairs.

“The 38-year-old suspect, dissatisfied with the explanation, became aggressive.

“The suspect allegedly kicked the victim in the back, snatched the victim’s bag, struck the victim's head multiple times with the bag containing a phone, and punched the victim's left chest,” he said in a statement here on Monday (Jan 20).

ACP Bahrin added that the victim sustained injuries, including a head wound and a fractured middle finger on the left hand.

“Investigations also revealed that the suspect had previously purchased a house in the area and lodged a complaint about defects to the victim.

“The suspect was arrested at 11.30am on Jan 20, at the Kluang police headquarters,” he said, adding that the case is being investigated under Section 325 of the Penal Code for voluntarily causing grievous hurt.
