Air Force medevacs infant from Tioman for urgent medical treatment

KUANTAN: The Royal Malaysian Air Force carried out a mercy flight on Thursday (Jan 16), transporting a one-month-old baby boy from Tioman Island, Rompin, to Tengku Ampuan Afzan Hospital here for urgent medical attention.

In a statement, the Air Force said Muhammad Emir Mikhyl Muhammad Izral Haziq, suspected of having sepsis, was flown to the Kuantan RMAF Base at 5pm Thursday aboard an EC725AP helicopter from the No 10 Squadron.

"The helicopter conducted a medevac (medical evacuation) mission to transport the baby and his mother, Nur Anis Hidayah Mohd Nazari.

"They landed safely at the Kuantan Air Fore Base and were promptly taken to the hospital.

"We hope the baby undergoes treatment smoothly and makes a full recovery," the statement added. - Bernama
