Man dies during hike at Bukit Kledang


IPOH: A 54-year-old man died after experiencing breathing difficulties while hiking Bukit Kledang in Menglembu here.

Perak Fire and Rescue Department operations assistant director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said the victim, identified as Low Chaw Ming, had shortness of breath before passing out around 3pm on Monday (Jan 13).

"We received a distress call at 3.05pm.

"When we arrived, the Pekan Baru and Menglembu volunteer firemen squads were trying to resuscitate him," he said in a statement.

Health Ministry personnel arrived at the scene, assessed the victim and confirmed his death, Sabarodzi said.

He said the victim was accompanied by a friend during the hike.

He said the victim's body had been handed over to the police.
