IPOH: A 21-year-old woman suffered injuries to her waist while hiking Trek 49 at Bukit Kledang Pasir Putih, Perak on Thursday (Aug 6).
Perak Fire and Rescue Department assistant operations director Sabarodzi Nor Ahmad said a distress call regarding the incident was received through the NG999 hotline at 9.57am.
"When the rescue team arrived at the scene, members of the public informed them that the victim had sustained injuries while hiking with a friend.
"The rescue team proceeded to the victim’s location to carry out rescue operations and had to walk along an off-road trail for about 1km to reach the site," he said in a statement.
He added that victim was given initial treatment by Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) personnel, including having a cervical collar fitted.
"She was then brought down to the foothills using a stretcher before being handed over to Health Ministry personnel for further treatment,” he said.
