Policewoman tests positive for drugs in Kuala Lumpur raid

KUALA LUMPUR: A 26-year-old policewoman was detained after testing positive for drugs during a raid at an entertainment outlet in Jalan Tun Razak.

Wangsa Maju OCPD Asst Comm Mohamad Lazim Ismail said the lower-rank officer was detained during the raid at about 2am on Wednesday (Jan 1).

"She tested positive for various drugs, including amphetamine, methamphetamine, and ketamine.

The investigation showed that the officer was on leave before she had to report for duty at the Johor police contingent," he said in a statement on Thursday (Jan 2).

He added that she was taken to the Wangsa Maju district police headquarters for further investigation.

"She has been remanded for two days. The case is being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952," he said.
