Girl who died after getting trapped in folding table laid to rest


NIBONG TEBAL: The body of six-year-old, Nur Aqifah Humaira Abdullah, who died after her neck was trapped between the legs of a folding table, was safely buried at Masjid Al Islah Cemetery in Permatang Tok Mahat, here on Thursday (Jan 2)

Some 30 of her family members attended the funeral at about 2pm.

Her mother, Rianafitri Asih, 38, described her youngest daughter as cheerful child, eloquent, playful and loved taking selfies.

The single mother, who is an Indonesian, also said she never left her daughter at home and would take her to work with her after she returned from school.

In the 4.15pm incident, Nur Aqifah was reportedly playing alone at the back of the townhouse rented by her mother.

Her mother and siblings were inside the house and only realised what had happened after noticing the girl had gone quiet.

She was pronounced dead at about 12.30am on Thursday (Jan 2)
