Spiralling bus stops safely with bystander intervention

PASSENGERS on a runaway bus in India were lucky to escape without injury after bystanders threw rocks under its tyres to stop the bus, Makkal Osai reported.

The government-operated town bus carrying about 20 passengers in Thiruppuvanam, Tamil Nadu lost its brakes.

Passersby who heard the passengers’ screams began throwing large rocks under the bus wheels along with the conductor, who managed to catch up with the bus.The bus was brought to a safe stop in front of a police station.
