Motorcyclist succumbs to injuries after collision with lorry in Kluang


KLUANG: A 39-year-old man was killed after his motorcycle crashed into the back of a lorry at KM74 of Jalan Johor Baru-Ayer Hitam, here.

Kluang OCPD Asst Comm Bahrin Mohd Noh said the incident occurred on Friday (Dec 27) at 7.40am.

“Initial investigations revealed that the incident involved a motorcycle ridden by a 39-year-old man.

“The motorcyclist was travelling from Ayer Hitam towards Johor Baru when his motorcycle collided with the rear left side of a lorry trailer.

“The lorry was driven by a 59-year-old man, who was travelling in the same direction,” he said in a statement here on Saturday (Dec 28).

ACP Bahrin added that the motorcyclist sustained severe injuries to his ribs and face and was rushed to Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom in Kluang for treatment.

“However, he succumbed to his injuries while receiving medical care,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
