Pahang cops record three statements over purported 'royal wedding'

BENTONG: Police have recorded statements from three individuals over a viral post over a wedding allegedly involving the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang, Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah, and a woman, purportedly to take place next year.

Pahang police chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said three individuals were summoned last Sunday to assist investigations into the Instagram post by user Faridah Daud (@faridah.daud_l).

He said an investigation paper has been opened under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

"We have recorded three statements so far. Profiling efforts are ongoing and we are actively tracking Faridah.

"We hope the public can assist by providing information to expedite the investigation process," he said at a press conference here on Tuesday (Dec 17).

The Pahang Royal Palace had earlier denied there was such a wedding taking place. – Bernama
