Cops seeking woman who claimed she is marrying Pahang Crown Prince


KUANTAN: Police are seeking a woman who claims to be getting married to Tengku Mahkota Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah.

Pahang Police Chief Datuk Seri Yahaya Othman said his department has opened an investigation paper under Section 500 of the Penal Code and Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.

"We are investigating this matter and are in the process of tracking down the suspect," he said when contacted by Bernama on Friday (Dec 13).

Last Tuesday (Dec 10), Pahang Palace denied a viral post regarding a royal wedding involving Tengku Hassanal and a woman, which is said to be taking place in April next year.

Comptroller of the Royal Household of the Sultan of Pahang Major-General Datuk Mohamed Zahari Yahya, reportedly said the post, uploaded by an Instagram user under the name Faridah Daud (faridah.daud_l), saw the woman describing her wedding ceremony with Tengku Hassanal.

According to the post on the Instagram story, the woman claimed to be getting married in April next year and had defamatoryly named the Tengku Mahkota of Pahang as her partner. – Bernama
