Bringing a knife to a fistfight: Five held after brawl in KL leaves three hurt

KUALA LUMPUR: An early morning fight here led to five arrests after three people were injured with a switchblade.

Dang Wangi OCPD Asst Comm Sulizmie Affendy Sulaiman said the fight occurred in Jalan Yap Kwan Seng after a disagreement involving four to five people.

One of the suspects used a switchblade, causing injuries to three people who sustained cuts on their hands and faces, he added.

"One victim needed 10 stitches (on) the right side of the face," he said in a statement on Tuesday (Dec 17).

Follow-up investigations led to the arrest of five people aged between 22 and 30, ACP Sulizmie said.

He added that a remand order would be sought on the five suspects to help with the investigation.

"We also seized the knife used in the incident," he said.
