Star Malay student from Chinese school awarded cash, smartphone at Star Education Fair 2024


GEORGE TOWN: The Malay student from SMJK Heng Ee, who was in the spotlight recently after a video of him receiving five top awards from the school received a cash award and a smartphone from Star Education Fair for his excellence.

Ahmad Khidir Ahmad Nazri, 17, came on the first day of the Star Education fair with his mother Fudla Yusoff, 55, and his sister who accompanied him.

Fudla a clerk, expressed her pleasure with her son's achievement and hope a better future awaits her son.

"I know he can do well in his SPM and I pray for the best," she said.

The single mother expressed her gratitude to the teachers of her son's school and everyone who has helped her son to do well in school.

Ahmad Khidir walked onstage to receive multiple accolades, including the Student of the Year award, first place in his class, first place in the Arts stream as well as awards for highest marks in Bahasa Melayu and Islamic Studies during the school presentation day in November.

Presenting the gifts on behalf of Star Media Group were the Event & Sales Manager, Star Education Fair Asnol Shahib Alwi and Senior Manager Events & Exhibitions Elaine Wong Mei Yin.

Star Education Fair also presented a cash award to SMJK Heng Ee (Main Campus) as a recognition to the school.
