Owner of car that crashed into LRT pillar believes burnt victim is his son


KUALA LUMPUR: Police have recorded a statement from the registered owner of a car that caught fire after an accident on the Federal Highway on Thursday, killing the driver.

Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Shahrulnizam Ja'afar said based on the statement, the car's owner suspects the victim is his son.

"However, the deceased's identity cannot be confirmed until the DNA test report is obtained, which is expected to take between one and two weeks," he said in a statement on Saturday (Dec 14).

It was reported on Thursday (Dec 12) that the driver of a car was killed when the vehicle went out of control and hit a Light Rail Transit (LRT) pillar before catching fire. – Bernama
