JOHOR BARU: The Johor government has allocated RM16.8mil to support 280,000 low-income families (B40) across the state under the Bantuan Kasih Johor Programme.
Johor Mentri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi said that this initiative follows Johor achieving a milestone of RM2bil in state revenue for the first time this year.

“As part of the programme, 5,000 food baskets will be distributed to all 56 state constituencies in phases, with the first deliveries commencing in December 2024.
“The baskets contain essential items such as rice, cooking oil, flour, sugar, and sardines, aimed at alleviating the rising cost of living for vulnerable families,” he said in a statement on his Facebook page here on Saturday (Dec 14).
Onn Hafiz shared that he had also launched the programme for the Machap and Layang-Layang constituencies during his visit to Simpang Renggam.

“The distribution is scheduled to proceed in five phases, concluding in January 2025.
“Each phase will see 1,000 baskets delivered to every constituency, ensuring efficient logistics and adequate supply management,” he added.
He added that the Johor state government is committed to addressing the needs of vulnerable groups.
"We hope this initiative will help reduce the cost-of-living pressures for the people of Johor and eliminate extreme poverty,” said Onn Hafiz.
