Kulai motorcyclist killed after crashing into divider trying to avoid lorry


KULAI: A motorcyclist was killed after he rammed into a road divider along Jalan Senai -Seelong here Thursday (Dec 12) while trying to avoid a lorry.

The 21-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his machine when the lorry turned right at about 8am towards the road heading to Senai.

OCPD Asst Comm Tan Seng Lee said that the victim, who suffered head injuries, died on the spot while the driver fled the scene soon after the accident.

“We managed to track down and arrest the driver of the lorry while the body was sent to the Temenggong Seri Maharaja Tun Ibrahim hospital here for post mortem.

He added that the case was being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.

Anyone who witnessed the accident are urged to contact Insp Ahmad Safuan Abu Naim at 017-757 3507 to assist in investigations.
