Ahmad Samsuri stays tight-lipped on resignation as Perikatan treasurer

KUANTAN: Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar is keeping mum over his resignation as the Perikatan Nasional treasurer, which was announced on Wednesday (Dec 12), Malay language daily Sinar Harian reports.

The Terengganu Mentri Besar told Sinar Harian that a statement on the matter would be issued at an appropriate time.

"I know what topic you all want to ask me about. For now, I do not wish to make any statement; wait for the right time," he said briefly.

Ahmad Samsuri was speaking to the media after the Inauguration and Handover Ceremony of the Water Distribution Pipe Project from Kemaman, Terengganu, to Gebeng, Pahang, in Gebeng on Thursday (Dec 12).

Ahmad Samsuri left the event soon after to head to Kuala Lumpur to attend a parliamentary session.

On Wednesday (Dec 11), PAS deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man confirmed that Ahmad Samsuri, who is also a PAS vice-president, had submitted his resignation as the Perikatan treasurer but refused to comment further on the matter.
