MetMalaysia issues thunderstorm warning until 7pm tonight


PETALING JAYA: Several states in Peninsular Malaysia as well as the Federal Territories and Sarawak, are expected to experience thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds on Sunday (Dec 8) evening.

The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), in a statement on Sunday, announced that thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected over the states of Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Kuala Kangsar, Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak); Pahang (Lipis, Jerantut, Bentong, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin); Selangor, Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya; Negri Sembilan; Melaka and Johor.

In Sarawak, areas affected are Betong, Sarikei, Sibu (Sibu and Selangau) and Mukah (Tanjung Manis and Daro).

The warning is in effect until 7pm on Dec 8.
