42 registered Malaysians in Syria, including students, are safe, says Wisma Putra.


PETALING JAYA: The Foreign Ministry is closely monitoring the situation in Syria and its implications for the stability of the Middle East.

The Ministry said it is communicating directly with the Malaysian citizens in Syria through the Malaysian Counsul. They confirmed that all 37 students and five registered Malaysian citizens there are reported safe.

"Malaysian citizens in Syria and neighbouring countries are encouraged to register through E-Konsular on https://ekonsular.kin.gov.my to get the latest information and for any assistance," said Wisma Putra in a statement on Sunday (Dec 8).

"The ministry will continue to closely monitor the situation and provide updates to ensure the safety and well-being of Malaysian citizens,” said the ministry.
