Two die in worksite mishap after crane topples


PUTRAJAYA: Two Indonesian workers were killed while another was injured after a bulk handling crane toppled over at an apartment building in Precinct 8 here.

Putrajaya OCPD Asst Comm Aidi Sham Mohamed said the victims were painting the side of the building when the incident occurred at 9.20am on Thursday (Dec 5).

"The deceased were aged 53 and 54 while the injured victim was 56.

"The victims, who were in the crane's bucket, fell after the machine became imbalanced.

"They were at the seventh-floor level," he said when contacted.

The bodies and the injured victim have been sent to Hospital Putrajaya, he added.
