Floods: Authorities activate Centralised Disaster Operations Control Centre

PETALING JAYA: The federal Centralised Disaster Operations Control Centre (PKOB) has been activated following severe flooding that has affected eight states nationwide.

The National Disaster Management Agency (Nadma) stated that the centre will coordinate and monitor rescue operations and manage flood victims.

"Coordination includes the necessary assets and logistics alongside mobilising rescue teams across the affected states," Nadma said in a statement on Friday (Nov 29).

"The Welfare Department has also requested an additional 50,000 food retorts for distribution at temporary relief centres," Nadma added.
