KUALA LUMPUR: Water levels at 30 rivers nationwide have breached dangerous levels as of 11am Friday (Nov 29).
Seven of these rivers are in Kelantan and six each in Terengganu and Kedah, followed by three each in Selangor and Johor, two in Negri Sembilan, and one each in Melaka, Perak and Perlis, according to the Public InfoBanjir portal.
In Kelantan, the affected rivers are Sungai Semerak in Pasir Puteh; Sungai Melor in Bachok; Sungai Kelantan in Kota Baru; Sungai Golok in Pasir Mas; Sungai Kelantan at Kusial and Kusial Baru in Tanah Merah; and Sungai Golok in Tumpat.
In Terengganu, water levels at four rivers in Setiu breached danger levels.
They are Sungai Nerus in Kampung Langkap (F1), Sungai Nerus in Kampung Bukit, Sungai Setiu at Jambatan Permaisuri (F2), and Sungai Chalok.
Sungai Dungun in Dungun and Sungai Kemaman in Kemaman also hit dangerous levels.
In Kedah, the affected rivers are Sungai Titi Kerbau in Pendang; Sungai Padang Terap, Sungai Bata and Sungai Laka in Kubang Pasu; Sungai Perik in Padang Terap; and Sungai Anak Bukit in Kota Setar.
In Johor, Sungai Tebrau in Johor Baru, Sungai Paya Dato in Mersing and Sungai Tangkak in Tangkak are at dangerous levels.
The three affected rivers in Selangor are Sungai Binjai in Klang, Sungai Bernam in Hulu Selangor, and Sungai Langat in Kuala Langat.
In Negri Sembilan, Sungai Serting in Jempol and Sungai Gemencheh in Tampin are affected while Sungai Melaka in Alor Gajah, Melaka also breached dangerous levels.
Sungai Slim in Slim River, Perak was at a dangerous level while Empangan Timah Tasuh in Padang Besar, Perlis also recorded similar readings.
As of 6am Friday, 80,589 victims have been displaced due to floods nationwide and 467 temporary relief centres have been activated.
Four deaths have been recorded.
