Higher Edu Ministry waiting for reports on UiTM cadet’s death

PUTRAJAYA: Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Zambry Abd Kadir said the ministry is awaiting reports on the death of a UiTM Reserve Officer Training Unit (Rotu) cadet.

"We will wait for the reports from the authorities,” he said when met on Wednesday (Nov 27) at the Putrajaya Festival of Ideas here.

According to a news portal, Muhammad Amir Rusyaidi Muhammad Zaidi died on Nov 13 after enduring an unscheduled training session that allegedly involved physical abuse.

In a police report, Amir’s father Muhammad Zaidi Abdul Rahman alleged that his son suffered abuse, including having his chest stepped on and was made to perform actions such as acting like a horse and being ridden by his trainer.
